Turn Good Grades Into Good Lives

Helping families navigate the transition to independence in the age of AI.

A New Kind of College Prep

The straight line from graduation to a lifelong career is increasingly rare.

Entry-level roles are shrinking, job titles are shifting, and the skills that matter today may not matter in three years. What students need isn't a 4 year plan, it's the self-knowledge, agency, and judgement to keep figuring it out as the world evolves.

Traverse helps create peace of mind that your child isn’t just getting into college, but is actually ready for what comes after.

Built for the Whole Family

The transition to independence is a transition for parents too. Structured weekly prompts give families a reason to talk about what actually matters. Surfacing assumptions, understanding values, and building the foundation of an adult-to-adult relationship.

Skills and Problems Approach

Students take a problem-first approach to career exploration.
They identify challenges that interest them, map the various skills being used to solve them, and connect with professionals outside the family.

From Passive
to Proactive

Most successful adults don't need to be told what to do. We enable students develop their agency and launch a self-directed project. Students build experience that proves their capability and gives them a head start in the job market.

Judgment as a Practiced Skill

Each week introduces a useful decision-making framework to be practiced on real life decisions. Students evaluate tradeoffs and think strategically through every step of the program.

Our online program runs in small-group cohorts with one live virtual session each week for 10 weeks.
Between sessions, families engage with guided modules, exercises, and reflection prompts that deepen the learning and prepare them for discussion.

Meet The Founder

Aleda Johnson grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and took a non-traditional path that landed her in venture capital in San Francisco.

After eight years working in the startup ecosystem and helping run one of Silicon Valley’s most competitive student fellowship programs, she saw firsthand what separates capable young adults from students who simply perform well academically.

Traverse was built to help families set their teens up for future success and to foster healthy adult relationships.
